About Us

Nature Girls for Great Afrika is a Non-Governmental Organization founded by Barr. Ada Ruby Ezuruka (Ph.D.), with co-founder Ijeoma Pearl Ezurukam.

We are dedicated to empowering girls, building futures, and transforming Afrika by helping young Black African girls discover confidence, health, and pride in their natural identity and environment.

Our Vision

An Afrika where every girl values her natural beauty and thrives in harmony with nature.

Our Mission

To educate, empower, and elevate African girls through self-awareness, health education, and environmental stewardship.

Empowering Girls. Building Futures. Transforming Afrika.

Founder's Message

Dear Friends,

I founded Nature Girls for Great Afrika with a deep conviction: that every Black African girl is naturally beautiful, naturally gifted, and naturally great.

For too long, our girls have been told to bleach their skin, hide their natural hair, and chase artificial standards of beauty. This has damaged not only their health, but their confidence and identity.

Through this organization, we are on a mission to Educate, Empower, and Elevate. We teach our girls to embrace their natural beauty, care for their bodies with nature's essential oils and nutrients, appreciate our rich African environment, conserve it, and cultivate healing herbs from our own soil.

When a girl learns to love her nature, she learns to nurture nature. And when she nurtures nature, she builds a greater Afrika.

Join us in raising a new generation of confident, healthy, and environmentally conscious African women.

With love and purpose,

What We Do

Our 5 Pillars

1

Creating Self Awareness

We help girls love their skin, natural hair, and African features through confidence-building workshops, mentorship, affirmations, and real-life success stories.

2

Health, Longevity & Nutrients Awareness

We empower young girls with knowledge of nutrition, puberty, menstrual hygiene, and healthy living. We educate on avoiding harmful practices such as skin bleaching, heavy makeups, fixing of eyelashes, artificial long hairs, and long nails, and promote natural body care with essential oils like shea butter, coconut oil, and aloe vera.

3

Appreciating the Natural Environment

We build knowledge and love for nature through school clubs, nature walks, storytelling, and African indigenous wisdom about plants, soil, water, and seasons.

4

Environmental Conservation

We lead tree planting, clean-up campaigns, and climate action projects, and teach reduce, reuse, recycle for sustainable communities.

5

Cultivating Herbs in the Garden

We train girls to cultivate home and school herb gardens (moringa, scent leaf, bitter leaf, lemongrass, aloe vera) and learn their medicinal and nutritional uses.
